How can we correct our business name on the 1099 form? It is correct everywhere in quickbooks.

When e-fling 1099 forms, the first step is all about reviewing your company info. If the 1099's are not sent yet, you can follow these steps to correct the business name:

1. Click Expenses on the left panel.
2. Select Vendors.
3. Click the Prepare 1099s button in the upper right-hand corner.
4. Click the Continue your 1099s button.
5. In the Prepare 1099s page, go to the Name and address section and verify your company's details.
6. To correct the business name, click the Pencil icon in the far right.
7. Click Save.
8. Complete the forms and file them when finished.

However, if the 1099's we're e-filed, you can send a corrected form. Please visit the IRS website to get the form you need.

The above solution did not work for me. What did work though is clicking on "Company Settings" link at the bottom of the Home Page of the Intuit 1099 E-Filing Service (the service used by QBO to file federal 1099s).

They are two different systems, I just found and our own business info on QB does NOT go over to the 1099 system, sadly. I also had to change it, unfortunately after I submitted the 1099s. 

Everything in the company information is correct however the system is still stating it is wrong

Let's check if the same thing happens if we access your account via an incognito window. It's an Internet browser setting that prevents browsing history from being stored. This process fixes QuickBooks' unusual behavior.

Here are the keyboard shortcut:

• Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
• Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
• Safari: Command + Option + P

Once done, access your QBO account and check your 1099  form again.

If it works, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This step helps the performance and speed of your browser. Using a different browser can be an option, too.

However, If the issue still persists, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. One of our QBO Support Specialists can use tools like screen sharing and double-check what’s causing the issue.

Here's how to reach them:

1. Click the Help menu in the upper-right-hand corner.
2. Type in "Talk to a human", then press Enter.
3. Look for I still need a human and click on it.
4. Click Get help from a human or Contact Support Team.
5. Select between Send a message, Schedule an appointment, or Get a callback.

The main problem was that everything on the Company name and address was correct.  However I eventually found a spot where the city of Buffalo was used on one area and West Seneca was used in the other area.  Once I changed the city it would let me continue.  That's an hour of my life I

ll never get back :)

EdF1 ... Were you able to make the change after you had filed the 1099s? I think I know where/how to change the name, but I can't seem to get there, since we've already processed the 1099s.  When does the list of 1099 filings go away? Will we be unable to make the name change until next January?
