The “Print Sample of 1099” takes to a static pdf screen.
The “Need Help?” take to genetic guidance like using the two browsers that I tried and failed. I have the impression it has to do with the backend set up for 1099 for QBO Plus subscription need to be fixed. Thanks.

Tried and still the same, impossible to align. The QB support team couldn’t help after 2+ hour remotes in and played around. I think the backend setup for QBO 1099 self-printing has issue. It appears intentional error to push the subscribers to the option using QB filing services or buying printing kits.
I am having the exact same issue. It looks like Quickbooks is trying to scam us to pay to have them file or file online. I am beyond frustrated.
I understand how that could be frustrating, @ascherbuilding. It's important to have our payroll forms aligned properly, and I'm here to ensure you can print your 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC in QuickBooks Online successfully.
Have you tried performing the suggested steps provided by my colleagues above? If not, make sure the general alignment from the PDF settings applies the following changes:
After that, go back to the Prepare 1099 section and select the "No, it doesn't line up" option. See this for the instructions:
If you're still experiencing the same problem, update, repair, or re-install Adobe Reader/Acrobat. This prevents common issues when printing.
Lastly, I'm adding this link about the QuickBooks Year-end guide for you to complete your end-of-year tasks.

Yeah, you used to be able to adjust the alignment manually. Every time QuickBooks "improves" something, they just make it worse.
You are correct. I just got off the phone with QuickBooks and was informed that we can ONLY print on the kits purchased from QuickBooks. Would have been nice to know that BEFORE I bought the forms from Office Depot.
how do I get my to print selected 1099's?
I check only the ones I need but once it goes to pdf to print it shows all. very frustrating

I appreciate the steps you've performed, Steph. Let me chime in and provide additional assistance with printing your payroll forms.
If you have e-filed within the program, these forms will appear in the Taxes tab. However, if you filed manually, I recommend contacting the payroll support team. This way, they can further investigate what's causing this issue while ensuring your information remains secure.
Here's how:
Check out their support hours to determine availability.
In the meantime, we can uncheck the Track payments for 1099 tick box for those contractors that you don't need to have the 1099 form printed. This way, only the selected contractors will appear when you prepare and file.
I'll add this article to learn what 1099 forms there are and the common queries: Get answers to your 1099 questions.
