The Time Activities by Employee Detail report shows the total number of hours they've rendered including breaks. You can provide it to your employees so they'll know the breaks they've recorded. You can follow the same steps shared by Catherine_B.
In addition, you can let your employee go to Report section if they have an access. This will automatically route them to the said report.

To monitor your employees, you need to turn on and set up time tracking. This feature helps you track and bill for the hours consumed in a project or activity. Here's how:
Time tracking is available in QBO Essentials, Plus, and Advanced.
You can also invite an employee as time tracking users so that they can access their timesheet and time reports.

I see how to to run the report and view the total hours for each employee, but is there a way to see if they've entered a break from the "single time activity" option?
We can add the Break column to see if they've entered one, sara26.
Let's pull the Time Activities by Employee Detail and add the Break column from there. The report also gives you the Start and End time the employee entered.
Here's how:
You can export, print, and mail this report that'll serve as your copy. The Save customization button also allows you to memorize the filters you've created. This way, you don't need to customize it again every time you pull it up.
