How to print 1099's?

Hello,

Is it possible to print an 1099 NEC for one contractor, or do I need to do all of the contractors at the same time?  Thanks!

How to print 1099's?

I’m here to share some information about printing 1099 NEC in QuickBooks, @jessmcd.

QuickBooks Online provides a way to print 1099 NEC for the individual contractor. You can select the Print and mail option to print your forms manually.

Here’s how:

  1. Create your 1099s in QuickBooks.
  2. When complete, choose the I'll file myself option.
  3. Choose the form 1099 NEC.
  4. Check if the forms align properly by selecting Print sample on blank paper. If it looks good, choose Yes, looks good! If the alignment isn't correct, choose No, it doesn't line up and follow the on-screen instructions to fix your alignment, then select Next.
  5. Confirm the form you want to print and select View selected 1099 contractors.
  6. Mark the contractor's name.
  7. Select Print on 1099 forms, then Print to complete your printing.
  8. Click Next then Done.

How to print 1099's?

I WISH the "I will file myself" was still available. Now that it is gone, how do I print 1099's from QuickBook Online?

How to print 1099's?

I understand how important it is to file the 1099 forms by yourself, julie68. I'm here to help you with that.

The ability to file the 1099 forms yourself is still available in QuickBooks Online. I'm here to walk you through the process.

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and then select Contractors
  2. Select Prepare 1099s and then click Let’s get started.
  3. Make sure your company name, address, and tax ID are correct and match what's found on tax notices or letters from the IRS.
  4. Select the boxes that represent the type of payments made to all of your contractors this year, then select Next.
  5. Verify that all of your contractors show up and their correct info.
  6. Review the payment totals for each box you selected in step 4, then click Next.
  7. Choose No, I'll print and mail or Print and mail.

If the button is still missing, I'd suggest logging in to your QuickBooks Online account via a private window. This doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to determine if this is a browser-related issue.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

Once logged in, check if the button is now available. If it does, let's clear the browser's cache. This removes its stored files to ensure the program performs efficiently.

If private browsing doesn't work, I'd recommend using other supported browsers. They'll provide the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks.
