I'll provide the steps you need to resolve a situation with duplicate employees entered in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @mccarthycc.
Before you proceed, keep in mind that this process is irreversible. This option is also unavailable for employees that already have payroll records.
When you're ready to proceed, here's how:
- Highlight the Payroll tab, select Employees.
- Select the duplicate employee, then tap Edit from the Action column.
- Change the First name and Last name field to exactly match the employee you wish to keep.
- Edit the Display Name to match the original name.
- Hit Save and close.
- Press Yes to confirm that you want to merge the two employees.
