In the same boat on all fronts there, even down to the discount question. I needed to track time to projects, the rep talked me into the plus version from essentials, it has yet to work. They gave me an investigation number but i haven't heard anything back yet on when it will be fixed or even any updates. Meanwhile i have employees entering time that will later need to be allocated to each project...this was supposed to save me time...ugh.
In case anyone is looking at this thread, this problem has been resolved for us as of today.
Just a note to say that it's now November and I went searching for info on this issue because I was having this problem for the first time today.
I tried the incognito option, signing out and back in and when that didn't consistently work, went with the 'fake invoice hack'. That works but it's a bit annoying that I will now have a bunch of fake invoices.
I don't officially send invoices via Quickbooks so it could be worse but there's still an ongoing issue that needs to be fixed.
oh, and I just found that changing a project from completed to ongoing due to additional work on that project, has the same problem. It doesn't automatically show up in the project list when adding time to it.
Just a note it is now January 2023 and I still have the same issue. I was chatting with support and they refered me to this chat, which I already saw and tried everything listed except for deleting the projects becuase we have years of hisotry assign to projects and I can't delete them. This person I am chatting with has no clue how to help me.
Has anyone found anything new on how to solve this issue?

It is December 4th, 2023 and I am having the same problem as described by several people above. Is there any fix to this problem?
Today is December 4th, 2023 and I am having the same problem as described previously in this thread. Was a solution ever found/implemented?
Yes, the issue seems to have come back recently. Our only workaround has been to book a $0 invoice against the project, then it will appear in the time entry window, and then once you've posted time to it you can go back and delete the invoice. What a headache... QB really needs to fix this.
Hi there, daledennis

Quickbook users, I just wrapped up a call with QB Time support and they where able to help me with the issue of projects not showing in Quickbooks Time or Quickbooks Online under the Time entry while being perfectly recorded under customer > projects.
My issue came up when a SYNC failed and the Sync log showed the error "unable to import project = "X" Customer name not found. Since, I was not able to find those projects when trying to add time for that project.
SOLUTION: The solution was a QB hack. Go to your project not showing as an option in Time, change the status of the project from IN PROGRESS to COMPLETED. Rrefresh the screen or navigate to antyhing else in QB so the change becomes saved. Then go to Quickbooks TIME and run a SYNC. If everything was done correctly, your project will no be again visible under the customer in Quickbooks Time.
Repeat the steps for other project with similar issues.
I was able to resolve this problem by deleting the project, recreating the project, and leaving the "start date" field empty when creating the project in the edit project screen.
To anyone having this issue out there, I get it, very frustrating. After reading this thread and trying many of the solutions I came up with a solution that worked for me and I think is the heart of the problem.
I am a Quickbooks Plus + Time user and was having this issue. When I first signed up with time last year they were still using the "classic time" but have since updated time so that it is in the same UI as quickbooks. In the "Overview" tab of the quickbooks time window (in the quickbooks side) you'll see a button that says "Go to classic Quickbooks time." When you click on this it will open a new tab and bring you the "classic" time.
Up at the top click the "Quickbooks" button and then click "Import" from the dropdown menu. This will force a sync between Quickbooks (Projects) and Quickbooks (Time). I think that in the back end they are two separate programs (since Intuit bought TSheets) and if your projects are showing up in Time but are showing up in Quickbooks it is because you're having a sync'ing issue between the platforms. This fixed the issue for me!
Hope this helps.
Thank you very much for this post! It worked for me!

This is still broken, and as of this morning, seems to have gotten worse. Now if a project doesn't exist, I need to create it, then quit QB online, then reopen and log in, then book a $0 invoice against, then quit QB online AGAIN, then reopen and log in, and only THEN can I book time against the project. I cannot wait to get our new ERP system implemented so I don't have to deal with QB again. The efforts being put in by the team their to make things look pretty is EXTREMELY frustrating, as all you're doing is breaking functionality that previously worked fine. Sad to see what was a good product seemingly just 6 months ago go so far downhill.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, @JoeMAtDolphin.
