As long as you're using our 1099 E-file Service, you don't need to file Form 1096. For more information regarding the service, please refer to our 1099's E-file FAQ here.
You can also check the recent publication on Form 1096 from the IRS.

I have prepared and printed my 1099's. Success! However, unlike my 1099s, when I go to print my 1096s there is only ONE vendor when there should be 4. Where are the other 3? Do I have to map the vendors for a 1096?

The 1096 will only generate how many vendors there are instead of showing names.
We can sort this out by performing our recommended basic troubleshooting steps when printing the 1096.
Storing a lot of files in the history folder can be the cause of the issue. This could be the reason are times we encounter unusual behavior in software like QuickBooks.
First, we'll need to log in to your account using an incognito window. I'm adding the shortcut keys below depending on the browser you're using:
If it works, you can clear the cache. This is to start your data fresh and help QuickBooks to work properly. Alternatively, you can use other supported browser in QBO.
