Thanks for reaching out to us, gsir.

I'm here to provide you some insights about payroll service cancellation.

Once you cancel your payroll subscription, you can no longer view the forms that you filed in the past. We'll have to reactivate it to access the records. After you process your W-2s, you can see the filing status in your Online Payroll account displays Submitted or In Progress. Provided that you click Submit two business days before the January 31st deadline, the SSA will consider your submission on time.

Here's the different filing status:

  • Submitted - We have received your W-2 for processing.
  • In Progress - We start sending W-2 information to the agency in mid-January.
  • Completed - The SSA has accepted your W-2.

You can refer to this link if you wish to cancel your payroll subscription: Cancel and reactivate your Online Payroll account.

If you have any other concerns or require further assistance in managing your payroll account, please let me know and I'll be glad to help. Have an awesome week ahead.

I'm an accountant and my client transferred their payroll service, and I got an email that said this "We'll handle your annual forms, such as Form W-2, according to the preferences you listed on your cancellation form." So how do they or I get the forms? Also, is it possible to get the form that was submitted by you to be able to electronically submit deposits and forms to the IRS, it is a 10 Digit code.

Hi mlrcomputing. Thanks for reaching out to the community/ Even though your client has canceled their payroll subscription. Any forms they may have filed will be available to view for up to 6 months. Here's how you can access the forms in just a couple of simple steps:

  1. From the left menu, select Taxes then choose Payroll Tax.
  2. Under Forms select which you'd like to view, print, or download.

Let me know if you need anything else. I'll be happy to help. Have a great day.
