If I received a notification that something went wrong after I ran payroll, does that mean it didn't go through? Or is it the other to do list items?

Let's check the status of the payroll you processed. This way, you'll be able to identify if it goes through or not so you can take the necessary actions to pay your employees on time.

Before we start, I'd like to verify if the payroll is processed through direct deposit or manual paychecks? If it's a direct deposit payroll and it's the first time you're paying your employees through it, you'll have to make sure your account is already activated.

It'll normally take 2 to 3 banking days to confirm and activate your account after signing up. An email will be sent to you confirming your direct deposit status.

In case it's still pending, you'll have to verify your account. Once done, go back to your direct deposit setup to check its status. Then, make sure to enter your employee's bank information to complete the process.

1. Go to the Workers menu.
2. Select Employees.
3. Choose an employee from the list. 
4. Click the pencil icon next to Pay.
5. In the How do you want to pay (employee name)? section, select Direct Deposit.
6. Enter employee’s posting bank account information.

If this isn't your first time processing a direct deposit payroll or you've created manual paychecks, you can pull up the Paycheck List report to check their status. If it shows as "Sent", this means your payroll did go through.

Moreover, you can also check each of your To-Do List items in the Dashboard. This is to verify if the payroll did go through. In case it wasn't processed successfully, you'll have to run your payroll again to pay your employees.
