Importing Paycom Payroll Data into Quickbooks Desktop

We just got a new payroll system, Paycom. Paycom is asking us for a "template" that we need to import all of our payroll data into Quickbooks Desktop.

I am not an Accounting person and have no clue how to do this!

We use Quickbooks desktop for our accounting purposes. I need to be able to import exactly as it is paid/shown etc. So on employee paychecks, I want to import ALL (taxes, benefit deductions, wages, etc) into our Quickbooks. Almost as though we ran it through Quickbooks.

PLEASE HELP!

Importing Paycom Payroll Data into Quickbooks Desktop

I can see how important it is to import your payroll information. I have a new another option on how you can do this. Let me guide you on how, Mandy.

For now, importing payroll data is unavailable. You can manually record the information in QuickBooks Desktop. Before you do that, set up manual payroll first. Follow the steps outlined below:

  1. From the Edit dropdown menu, select Preferences.
  2. Choose Payroll & Employees, then Company Preferences tab.
  3. In the QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Features section, select the Full payroll and the Manual Payroll checkboxes.
  4. In the Get payday peace of mind window, select Next and then Activate in the confirmation screen.
  5. Select OK to apply the changes.
  6. Click OK to exit out of the preferences window.

Otherwise, reach out to the Paycom Support  Team so they can provide you other option on how you move your data to QuickBooks.

Also, after your data has been move to QuickBooks, learn how you can customize reports to help you manage and keep track of employee expenses. For more details, check out this handy article for reference: Customize Payroll and Employee Reports.

Importing Paycom Payroll Data into Quickbooks Desktop

I appreciate you for coming back with us, @GM33. Let me further share with you some updates regarding importing payroll data in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Currently, please know that QBDT still doesn't support the direct import of payroll data.  However, I have a workaround for you. You can consider manually entering your payroll history to maintain accurate records and effectively track your employee earnings and deductions. I’d be happy to guide you through this process.

  1. On the Help menu, choose About Intuit QuickBooks.

  2. Press Ctrl + Alt + Y or Ctrl + Shift + Y to open the Setup YTD Amounts window, then Next.
  3. Under When should YTD summaries affect accounts? section, manually enter the specific year/date period, then Next.
  4. Enter the Earliest QuickBooks payroll date, then Next.
  5. Provide the YTD summary for an employee, click the Enter Summary button after selecting the employee's name.

  6. Once done, click OK.
  7. Click the Create Payment button to Enter prior payments

  8. Once done, select Finish

Alternatively, you can browse our QuickBooks App Market to find a third-party application that can export and import payroll data or transactions. Here's how:

  1. Click this link: Apps for QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Enter a keyword in the Search field or use the Filters section to narrow down the process.
  3. This action will display a list of apps.
  4. Click on the View Profile button to see more details about the software.

Additionally, kindly check out this article to learn more about ways to import and export info in QuickBooks: Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop. It includes the lists and transactions you can import.

I've added this article to help you run payroll reports: Create a payroll summary report in QuickBooks. This way, you can view what you've paid out in your QuickBooks payroll.
