Intuit online payroll (from Bank of America) transfer to Quickbooks

I have been using Intuit online payroll that I access through Bank of America. Was told I had to transfer to Quickbooks online payroll. I do not use Quickbooks (I use Quicken).  So I clicked on 'let's do it' to transfer to Quickbooks online payroll thinking it would be simple. Not so much. First it then told me to login to my Quickbooks account, and it said I needed to have a Quickbooks accounting program. This is something that was never mentioned in the email to me about transferring.. so I have to pay for Quickbooks plus the Online Payroll??  Ok, so I signed up thinking I'll give it a try.  When I login to my Quickbooks and then click on payroll, it wants me to sign up for a payroll account.  But I already did!  How the heck do I access my Quickbooks online payroll account that I am paying for along with the Quickbooks accounting account?  I signed back into Bank of America and tried to log back into my online payroll through there and the link is broken. Nothing comes up.  This is just great. Now I see all the threads about people having issues. I called and talked to someone who had me on the phone for 40 minutes, acted like she had no clue what my problem was and then disconnected me.  Then I tried the Chat, guess what the technician left the chat while we were in the middle of discussing what was wrong. This is a terrible experience with Quickbooks and I think I'd rather manually do my payroll then deal with this type of service. Can anyone help me?

I wish I could make it better, @Redbird1219.

In QuickBooks Online, you'll have to prepare your accounting preferences first for the accounts you'll have to use and are affected with all your payroll transactions. This way, your company data from the online payroll will convert successfully so you can get back to business in no time. Let me show you how.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under YOUR COMPANY, select Payroll Settings.
  3. Select Preferences.
  4. Click Accounting Preferences.
  5. Review and select all your payroll accounts accordingly.
  6. Select OK.
  7. Click OK.

Additionally, here's an article you can read this article to learn more about this setting: Payroll Accounting Preferences.

From here, you can go ahead and proceed with the conversion from your online payroll account. To do so, you can follow the steps outlined in this link: Setup export of IOP data to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Need help performing any tasks related to your account and company settings, click here to access and browse all articles for QuickBooks products. This reference contains most resources with steps on how you can update your data and security management, to name a few.

Don't hesitate to post again here if you have other questions or concerns with QuickBooks tasks and navigations. I'm always around happy to help. Stay safe and have a good one!

JonpriL, that's just it, my payroll subscription is not showing up on my Quickbooks online account.  When I go to the Gear icon, then my Company, I don't have Payroll Settings.

This isn't the kind of experience we want you to have with your payroll data, @Redbird1219. I'm here to guide you on the actions you need to take care of your payroll subscription issue with QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Since the Community is a public forum, and we'll need to collect some personal information to pull up your payroll account details, I encourage you to reach out to our Payroll care team again. This is to verify all your QuickBooks subscriptions and make sure you'll not be subscribed more than you need to. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO company.
  2. Go to the Help (?) menu.
  3. Select the Search tab.
  4. Click the Contact Us button.
  5. Enter a brief description of your concern in the What can we help you with? field.
  6. Select Continue.
  7. Choose a way to connect with us (Send a message or Get a callback). Make sure to initiate contact during support hours.

I've attached a screenshot below that shows the last five steps.

Once you're done, feel free to open the links from this article in case you need guides while working with QuickBooks payroll in the future.

Also, I'm adding this article to further guide you in managing your payroll account using QuickBooks Online: Help Articles for Online Payroll. It includes topics about subscription management, setting up and editing payroll, and money movement, to name a few.

Please keep me posted on how it goes. I'll be right here if you need further assistance and/or other payroll concerns. You can drop a comment below, and I'll gladly help. Stay safe and have a nice day.

Well, I've tried that already by calling (40 minutes on the phone then she disconnects me) and also a chat (the guy left the chat mid conversation), so you want me to try again and hope I can get someone to help me? I will have to wait until I have few hours to spare. Sorry if I sound a little frustrated but this is absolutely ridiculous. Not a good first impression of Quickbooks.

Thanks for coming into this thread, SeaBOL.

Conversion is automatic once you migrate from Intuit Online Payroll (IOP) to QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll Core. Thus all your payroll data will remain.

Feel free to read through this article to learn what to expect when converting files from IOP to QBO Payroll Core: Move from Intuit Online Payroll to QuickBooks Online Payroll Core.

If you're experiencing issues with the conversion process, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Care Team. This requires a thorough investigation to identify its cause so you'll be able to convert the files successfully.

Check out this article to be  more familiar with using the QBO Payroll Core:

Let me know if you have additional questions about this, or need further assistance. I'm here to help. Have a lovely day!

Intuit online payroll (from Bank of America) transfer to Quickbooks

Im having the same  problem. After being subtly forced to switch accounts we hesitantly did and the data seems to have been lost because its now saying there's no account associated with our email and I've been bounced around 7 times from one incompetent rep to another for 2.5 hours and no one seems to know how to help. So far not a great look for this company and the lack of actual live/on the phone tech support is horrible

It seems they really didnt think this through and were not prepared for this at all.None of the staff are competent to handle these issues and they keep bouncing you around from one department to another. I spent 3 hours of my life on this that I will never get back and could have spent doing other things

I know that this hasn't been easy for you, SeaBOL.

Let me route you to the best support so this will be taken care of the soonest.

Since your IOP account is under Bank of America, I'd recommend contacting our payroll support. This way, we'll be able to reset your access so you can open your company again and export your payroll data

I also encourage checking this article to learn more about what to expect when you migrate from IOP to QuickBooks Online Payroll: Move from Intuit Online Payroll to QuickBooks Online Payroll Core.

I wish I had read this before I clicked "Let's do this!"  I've lost all my info.  I hope I can get some help soon. I need to do payroll tomorrow and, of course, no one is available until Monday.  Frustrating...

Intuit online payroll (from Bank of America) transfer to Quickbooks

Hi - I had no luck getting this up and running through the BofA portal either.  I hate staying on hold so I took the login information that was populated by BofA "We found your accounts which one do you want to sign in under" and went directly to:

Surprisingly I was able to login very quickly, the payroll reports and info had already been transferred over by BofA/Intuit.  I was able to pay my payroll tax without much trouble.  I am not sure if the link will work from BofA to quickbooks payroll in the future but I will use the direct link if need be.
NOTE: I was prompted to enter credit card info to pay for the service, which on the surface looks much more expensive then Intuit was.  My idea is to sort this out later.

I am also having the exact same problem. I have called numerous times over the last few months with no one being able to help me.  I have not been able to run regular payroll and have been paying employees and contractors using Zelle based on previous pay since most are paid the same amount weekly.  It has been several months now and still nothing. I spent 4.5 hrs on 3 different phone calls yesterday.  No help. Was told that an expert would call back, but guess what?  The same rep called back and left a vm saying that I needed to us the Call Back option.  I have been doing that already for every phone call to them.  I started using Intuit via Bank of America back in 07/2013 and now I have no access to any of our files.  What is going on here?  There must be someone we can report this to.  A higher agency needs to intervene here because this is screwing a lot of businesses up.  I am going to be late paying payroll taxes/bills because of this mess.

Yep, happening to me — Intuit customer service reps have no information. Phone numbers are dead, links are dead. No effort to help customers.

This is a giant mess. My payroll taxes are due I can’t access payroll I just get a spinning cog when trying to upgrade.

I accidentally signed up for QuickBooks online accounting which I don’t need and I’ve already canceled.

This forced upgrade is a disaster.  I can’t even access my payroll to pay my payroll taxes that are due.

i've gone from free payroll for one person to not being  charged but I can't even upgrade

This isn't what I want you to experience with QuickBooks, TerriZamore.

Let me make it up to you by making sure this issue gets resolved.

To start, let's try upgrading payroll via a private window. This doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to determine if this is a browser-related issue.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

If it does, let's clear the browser's cache. This removes its stored cache to ensure the program performs efficiently.

You can also use other supported browsers. They'll provide the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks.

In case the issue persists, I'd suggest contacting our QuickBooks Payroll Team. They have full access to your account and can check the cause. It'll also allow them to submit a ticket to our engineering team to alert them about the issue if necessary.

Additionally, I've added an article that'll help you pay state and federal payroll taxes online. This ensures all the taxes are paid: File Payroll Taxes and Forms in Online Payroll.

Please let us know if you'll need assistance in dealing with your payroll tasks, don't hesitate to get back on this thread. We're always here to help you.
