It's possible that the paycheck was posted in a different bank account. This is the reason why you can't see the transaction in the register that you're looking at.
Let's open the paycheck again and check what account was used. Here's how:
Once done, make sure the correct bank is assigned in your payroll settings. Here's how:

That was not the issue. The checking account is the same as always.
The payroll transactions did finally show up in the Bank Register. But it took several hours for them to show up.
My question is, is this delay normal? And if so, the software should let the user know.
And, the payroll transactions showed up on Payroll Reports, and the Workforce emails were sent.
The problem I am reporting is that the transactions did not show up in the Bank Register for several hours. They eventually did show up in the correct Bank account register. I just want to know if this kind of delay is expected behavior.
Good afternoon csp54321,
Thanks for chiming in. If your bank is connected to QuickBooks, meaning the bank is feeding the transactions to the register, then the timeframe would depend on your bank. However, you could manually refresh the bank feed to reduce delays. Here's how:
This updates all your connected bank and credit card accounts. Let me know if you have any other questions. I will be around to help. Bye for now.
Thanks for your reply, however that's not it either.
We don't have any connected bank accounts.
I understand how latency affects your navigation when handling payroll transactions in your account, csp54321. I can provide additional insights to clarify the delays on your entries before showing up in the bank registers.
Usually, QuickBooks will automatically download recent transactions from your bank. As the program depends on the process of how and when your banking institution updates your entries, unexpected behaviors like this will happen. With this, it's best to manually refresh your banking feeds to help reduce latencies on your account.
In addition, payroll transactions will also be posted at the end of the day depending on the date entered on the checks.
I'm also including these references to help speed up the review process of categorizing your bank transactions:

As I have said several times, I do not have my bank account connected to my Quickbooks Online. I do the payroll transfers of net pay manually from my bank’s website.
So far everyone who has replied to my query has assumed I have the bank account connected to my QBs Online account.
We don’t do payroll direct deposit from QBs Online.
My question is still - why was there a delay of several hours before the payroll transactions of the net salary amounts were displayed in the Bank Register in the Chart of Accounts?
And, if this is expected behavior, then the software should notify the user.
BTW, the payroll transactions were visible in Payroll Reports, the employees received Workforce emails with paystubs, and the paychecks were listed on the Employee > Paychecks List.
