The CA WH Quarterly Tax Return is the DE9 form.
Hello, Linda S. I can help you get the DE9 form.
You may view both manually and electronically filed forms in your filing history. Please also update the tax table in QuickBooks Desktop to ensure you have the most recent payroll tax forms.
Now, let's check under Filing History if the form appears. Here's how:
Check this article to view or print other payroll tax forms in QuickBooks Desktop: Access payroll tax forms and tax payments.
You can also read the year-end payroll checklist to prepare for the tax season.
If you have any additional queries about the following forms, please stay in touch with this thread. I'm available to help.
My Filed Forms window is empty, just like yours. Now what?
We appreciate you for joining the thread, @Linda S.
To view your filed forms window, you must first ensure that your payroll subscription is active. I'm here to help you with how to do it.
Here's how:
Refer to this article for more details: Get started with QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.
Once done, you must update your tax table to access the up-to-date payroll tax forms and e-pay options.
I also added this article to update your State Unemployment Insurance since it isn't part of the normal tax table: Update your State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rate.

Hi Bryan_M,
My payroll Service Key is valid and everything updated to the latest and greatest update. I looked for the DE9 for all recent years and there are no forms for any years. I've been running Assisted Payroll for 15 years. Nothing has changed. I can't figure out how to access this form and why it is not available with all the other forms.
Thanks,
Linda
Thanks for the update, @Linda S.
I'll make sure you can access your DE9 forms in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Payroll so you can provide one to your CPA and obtain the payroll data you need accordingly.
Since you're using Assisted Payroll service, let's select the View/Print forms & W-2s option in the File Forms tab to access your DE9 forms. To do this, here's how:
If you wish to learn more about viewing payroll tax payments and forms in QBDT Payroll, please see this article: Access payroll tax forms and tax payments.
If you're still unable to access your DE9 forms, even after performing the steps above, I'd recommend contacting our Payroll Care team. They can create a case to investigate your payroll form concern and guide you with a fix.
Also, QuickBooks offers a variety of payroll and employee reports that can help you manage payroll and keep track of employee expenses. You may want to check out this article to guide you in customizing these reports in QBDT: Customize payroll and employee reports.
Please feel free to leave a comment below if you have other payroll concerns or questions about managing forms and taxes in QBDT Payroll. I'm always ready to help. Take care, @Linda S.
Still cannot find it.
I'll route you to the right support team who can provide the DE9 form, Linda S.
I recommend chatting with our Assisted Payroll Team. They have the tool to retrieve the DE9 form and guide you through the steps about pulling it up in QuickBooks.
Take the best care always and have a wonderful week ahead!
