How do I tell QBO to stop sending my vendors emails re: their 1099s ?
They are telling me that they can't turn off that repeated email, even though they've received they 1099s via the USPS.
I want to keep the vendors emails within QBO for reference and if I want to contact them, but I do not need to send them 1099-related emails.
Thanks,
Henry
Hi there, @henryflurry.
Thanks for joining the Community today. Allow me to share some insights about having QuickBooks to discontinue in sending emails to your vendors.
Currently being able to turn off the option to stop the email notification of your vendors isn't available for us. This will stop automatically once the vendor will file the 1099 forms completely. The only way to avoid the notification is to remove the email from your vendor's profile.
I can see how this feature would be beneficial to you and your business. I'd encourage you sharing this idea to our product Product Developers. Doing this helps them understand where we can improve and what features should be added so we can better serve you. Just click on the Gear icon and select on Send Feedback Online to send your suggestion.
Also, you can visit our QuickBooks Online Blog to be updated about our latest happenings. Through this, you're able to get the newest news, features, and updates about QuickBooks Online and what our Product Care Team is working on.
In case you need additional assistance with QuickBooks, you can always reach out to our Customer Care Team through this contact information: Contact the QuickBooks Online Customer Support team.
Be sure to let me know how else I can empower you to make QuickBooks work the way your business needs. Thanks for coming to the Community, wishing you continued success.
Thank you for the quick reply.
I have registered my complaint to the Feedback button as you suggested and requested a reply.
I noted that we will take our business elsewhere if this isn't resolved by next tax season.
I have also registered a complaint about QBO's practice with TechSoup, the organization to which QB graciously contributes highly discounted versions of QB to nonprofits, and through which we have obtained our license. Perhaps they will have a little more sway with Intuit than a lonely user.
Cheers,
Henry
Is that issue already fixed? Any updates? Same problem with my 1099 vendors. They suppose to have a button "already filed" or something that will let them stop to receive those invitation e-mails to "View your 1099".
Hello, @ENML.
Allow me to chime in and help share some information about this issue.
At this time, we don't have a specific turnaround time on the resolution for this issue. The only workaround, for now, is to remove the email from your vendor's profile as mentioned by my colleague @BettyJaneB.
I'll make sure to send feedback to the appropriate channels regarding the availability. I'd also recommend sending feedback to our Product Developers to let them know how you feel about this feature. We always value your input to serve you better.
This is how you can send your feedback directly.
Please let me know if you need anything else or if you have additional questions about your vendors 1099. If you need help in the future, you can always contact us again in the Community or you can send a message to our Online Chat support for assistance. Best regards.
Same issues continue in June of 2020. My contractors are unable to fill out the 1099 information. They all say "the page won't advance" and yet they continue to get automatic emails to fill out the information. Significantly inconvenient to go in and remove all the email addresses for my contractors. Seems silly Quickbooks.
I appreciate you for bringing this one to our attention, henryflurry.
I've checked here on our end and there's no reported case where contractors are unable to fill out the 1099 information. Also, the option to stop the email notification of your vendors is unavailable. Once the vendor will file the 1099 forms completely, it will stop automatically.
I understand how inconvenient it is on your end to remove your vendor's email. However, this is the only workaround we have to stop the email notification.
To resolve the error message "the page won't advance", let's try accessing QuickBooks Online (QBO) using a private or incognito window.
Here's how:
If it works, try clearing your browser's cache to delete the temporarily stored files. You can also do this task on other supported, up-to-date browsers to be thorough.
If the same thing happens, I'd suggest contacting our Technical Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this issue. They'll also check if there's another way on how to stop the emails that are automatically sent to your vendors.
Here's how:
I've got a link here that provides you with articles about managing your vendor transactions: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/expenses-and-vendors/07?product=QuickBooks%20Onlin....
Fill me in if you need anything else in QBO. I'll be here to ensure your success. Take care always.
I had the same issue and my contractors found the emails very confusing as they didn't understand they would be receiving mailed copies as well. Even though I deleted the email address in my QB vendor info, it automatically populated into the 1099 info from the prior year.
Here's the fix -
1. In the Intuit 1099 E-File Services screen choose company settings.
2. Choose "Data Usage Option"
3. Choose "No. Only send printed copies to my contractors."
Just submitted my 1099's and it looks like that fixed it for me. Hope it helps you as well!
I'm having the same problem although I already sent my 1099 but now it's sending this email to someone that does not want to receive the email and I'm not sure how to stop it? I've been in multiple chats and phone calls with QB and have yet to find anyone to answer my question. I deleted all email info from the vendor profile.
