Wiil the OHIO IT 3 automatically be e-filed when the OHIO IT 941 is e-filed?
Let me address your query about filing the Ohio IT 3 form in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @46Sandy.
QuickBooks doesn’t e-file your Form IT 3 after e-filing your Ohio IT 941. The two forms may report the same details which the employer is required to send to each employee and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) at the end of the year. However, form IT 3 is the transmittal of wage and tax statements mandated by the State of Ohio.
Moreover, if you have electronically filed your W-2 to the IRS with QuickBooks, they will automatically send a copy to your state agency if required.
Furthermore, learn to pay and file your payroll taxes electronically for a hassle-free process. After that, you can view your previously filed tax forms and payments to access them anytime.

Thank you for the information. By QuickBooks automatically updating the State after the W2 is e-filed, this means the IT 3 will not need to be filed?
Thank you
I appreciate your immediate response, 46Sandy. I'll give you more details about the Ohio IT 3 to assist you in filing your state tax forms accordingly.
QuickBooks only sends your W-2s to the state agency. Thus, you'll need to upload your W-2 information electronically through the W-2 Upload feature on the Ohio Business Gateway. This way, it'll automatically create an IT 3 from the information you submitted.
You can learn more about this by accessing your state agency website.
Also, I've included this article to help you prepare your tax forms in QBDT Payroll: Year-end checklist for QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.
