Paycheck history does not seem to be an option in my QBW 2020, so how can I run a payroll history report for one EE?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community again, ChristieV78. I'll be sharing the exact report that shows the employee's paycheck history and how to print it in QuickBooks Desktop.
A paycheck history report in QuickBooks provides an employee's previous pay amounts, including earnings, taxes, deductions, rates, and rate changes within a specific time period. However, the said report is only available in the Online version of QuickBooks and that's the reason it does not seem to be an option in your QBW 2020.
Since you're using the Desktop version, you can run the Payroll Detail Review Report and customize it to show the payroll history for one employee by going to the Paycheck detail page.
Here's how:
Once you view the data of the employee's paycheck, you can click the Print icon that is located at the upper portion of the report. Then, you can now print the payroll data for one employee or each paycheck date during the specific time frame.
Lastly, you may refer to this article to view information on how QuickBooks Desktop provides different reports that cater to your business needs: Understand reports.
Please know you can continue to comment below with any additional questions about running employee data. I'm always around to help, ChristieV78. Have a good day!
What is a "paycheck history"? What do you need the report to show?
I need to print a payroll report for one employee, for each paycheck date during the time frame of 4/1/2023 to 2/23/2023

Thank you for that information. However, I am trying to print one report for that one employee for April 2022 thru current. This particular employee is applying for benefits and needs paycheck history. I would prefer one excel sheet or report with all the data inclusive. Thank you.
Thanks for getting back here, @ChristieV78. I want to ensure you'll be able to get an excel report for your employee's paycheck history in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
To do so, you can use the Payroll Detail Review Report as recommended by my colleague and export it to Excel. You can also perform the following steps to filter the report and see their paycheck history and benefits. Here's how:
For reference in modifying reports, please check this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
I also added this helpful resource that you can use as a guide in running payroll report in QBDT: Excel based payroll reports.

@ChristieV78 RE: However, I am trying to print one report for that one employee for April 2022 thru current. This particular employee is applying for benefits and needs paycheck history.
What does the report need to show? Do you need all the details from each paycheck, from gross to net, for example - like a pay stub? Or just the earnings detail? Or an earnings summary (one number) for each paycheck?
Needs to have income & withholdings for each pay period.
That works! Thank you very much. Printed for future reference.
Great to have you back, @ChristieV78, and updating us on this.
