Great having you join us here in the Community, @nancydevnext. I’ll address your concern about allocating payroll wages to different accounts in QuickBooks Online Core.
You can allocate to the Accounting menu located at the bottom of the Payroll Settings page when using the QBO Core payroll plan. This way, you can manage your employees’ wages to multiple accounts in the general ledger.

Thank you Carneil_C for this direction. Do you know if I can actually charge an employee's wages to multiple accounts? For example. I have one of my employees that I need to split his wages between 4 different ledger accounts.

With regards to this matter, you can allocate a payroll item to one expense account. This option is exclusive for QuickBooks Online Enhanced Payroll.
