Payroll direct deposit for very large salary

My client, 2 doctors, want to run payroll using direct deposit for (2) partners with $260,000 per year in annual salary.  The system stopped these 2 paychecks from using direct deposit.  How can this client use direct deposit with their large salaries?  The system said to contact Intuit which is almost impossible.

Hi there, @rsknow.

Allow me to ease your confusion by sharing some details about processing payroll via direct deposit (DD).

We set limits on how much money you can send through DD for security measures. Since the system stops your client from processing payroll using DD due to a large amount, it's possible that they already reached the limit.

To verify their direct deposit limit amounts, I suggest reaching out to our Intuit Online Payroll team. This way, they can review the payroll account of your client and its DD limits. Also, they can help submit an online request to increase the direct deposit security limit. Additional documentation such as a bank statement may be required and should be uploaded on the request form.

To reach them, sign in to your Intuit Online Payroll account and click the Contact Us link. Or you can directly fill out this form to chat with an expert.

I'm adding this article to know more about direct deposit limits: Get help if you’re over a direct deposit limit.

Keep in touch if you need any more assistance with processing payroll using direct deposit, or there's something else I can do for you. I've got your back. Have a good day.

Thank you for your response.  There are several posts about how to solve this problem with QuickBooks online payroll.  THEY DO NOT HELP ME.  I process Intuit Payroll Online.  Yes, there is a button to initiate CHAT but after filling out the form I get a white screen. (Everyone else's chat works for me.) You no longer have a phone number to call for this application.  How in the world do I contact a representative?  I should not have to go to a Community Forum to get help as a wholesale customer.

I have advised my client to try running his executive payroll on an opposite week to his regular payroll.  The single executive with a large salary used to process fine with everyone else.  Now that there are 2 of them they got blocked.  This might solve the problem.  They do not really want a limit increase because of the penalty of having to process 5 days in advance instead of 3 days in advance.

Hi, rsknow. I want to ensure you'll be guided to the support who can assist you further with your client's direct deposit.

Since the Community is a peer user forum, my access to the tools to check your client's direct deposit account is limited.

I know you've already tried to connect with us. Nonetheless, for security reasons, I'd still suggest getting in touch with our QuickBooks Support. Agents have the necessary tools to look into their accounts and verify their direct deposit limit.

Our Support Team is available from 6:00 AM until 6:00 PM from Mondays to Fridays.

If you're still getting the white screen while trying to get in touch with our chat support, you can access your account in a private window. Here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Press CTRL + Shift + P.

If you're able to connect from the private window, go back to your main browser and clear its cache to remove the portal's history. You may also try accessing your account using another supported browser.

You might find this write-up interesting: Federal holidays. This will help guide you in managing your payment schedule for direct deposit.

Let me know if you still need help with this or if you ran into a different situation by adding a reply below so I can look further into this. I want to make sure you're all set. Have a lovely week.

Having some issue. Did you solve this with QB, or maybe is there another payroll provider with more reasonable limits? Curious to know how you managed. Thanks!

Thanks for joining in this conversation, @criticalhorizons. You can submit an online request to increase your direct deposit security limit.

You may be required to submit additional documentation such as bank statement(s). You can upload these documents to the request form.

For future reference, you'll want to update your direct deposit funding time in QuickBooks and Intuit Payroll. Read through this article for more insights: View or change your direct deposit funding time.
