Payroll Emails

When I run payroll, my employees are receiving their pay stubs before I have even printed the checks. Is it possible to change the timing of when they receive the email notification? Sometimes I have made minor errors and have to fix the employee's pay but they have received the first notification already followed by the updated one. I would like to prevent this from happening.

Thank you

Payroll Emails

It's nice to see you here, @AL9605.

I can share some insights about sending paystubs using QuickBooks Workforce. When you finalize a payroll, your employees will immediately get an email letting them know their pay stubs are available to view and print. This is an automated process when the employee is given access to his Workforce account.

At the moment, there isn't a preference to update this setting, or to change the options on when you can send the paystubs to their profile. What you can do is to make the edits before actually saving the payroll, so the system will not post the created paystubs.

You can also add a product request for our developers. They go through a wide range of feedback, as they wanted to be thorough with the enhancements and product updates to make our program efficient to use. For now, we can't provide the turnaround time if they will release additional payroll preferences. They work on product enhancements internally.

If you have any product suggestions to our developers about our report preferences, send your request through these steps:

  1. Click the Gear icon and choose Feedback.
  2. Enter your suggestion for our engineers on the Feedback box.
  3. Once done, press Next to send it.
