payroll forms from 2017

client has a recent SSA notice from 2017 filings.  client processed payroll and forms through QuickBooks online version in 2017.  Today the client no longer uses QB payroll, but still uses QB Desktop for all accounting.  They have used QuickBooks since 2012 and are in the updated 2019 version.  I am not able to see the payroll forms previously completed in the software, so I am not able to appropriately respond to the SSA.  Time is of the essence.  What steps do we need to take to access this prior year forms?  Thank you.

Yes you won't be able to see the forms using QB desktop.

If I'm not mistaken you can get them from the IRS or the SSA. Or, perhaps, if you contact QB Online support they can provide what was filed.

I'm having the same problem! I am interpreting that I'll have to fill out the forms manually?

Thanks for looping in, Sue907.

I'd be happy to help you with your payroll forms via QuickBooks Desktop. Let's get this filed.

To answer your question, yes you're right, you'll need to manually fill out the forms. You can get the information in your QuickBooks Desktop and file the form through the IRS website.

You can file them through this link: https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free.

I'll leave you some helpful articles to know more about e-filing payroll forms:
