Payroll Liabilities QB Desktop

Today when I went to run payroll there were three overdue liabilities from 2019 that were not there Monday. I found where two of them had been paid with liability checks. The third I cannot find, still working on that. Why would they come back up when already paid?

Let's check if the payments were deleted or unliked to your liabilities, @GCC13.

By doing so, we can confirm why the liabilities show as overdue.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Vendors menu and then choose the Vendor Center.
  2. Click the vendor's name.
  3. In the Type column, ensure all are listed as Liability Check.
  4. If there is a Check, double-click to view the transaction.
  5. Verify if the payment is link or not deleted for the payroll liabilities.

I've also added this article that can guide you fix incorrect payroll liabilities in QuickBooks: Adjust payroll liabilities in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you have other questions, I'm happy to answer it. Just post it here as a comment and I'll take a look at it. Enjoy your day.

They are liability checks.

Hey there, @GCC13

Thanks for reaching back out to the Community. Let's try a few basic troubleshooting steps to help resolve this problem. Running the verify and rebuild tool can help fix this problem. The tool identifies and fixes the most commonly known data issues within a company file. Here's how:

Verify data

  1. Choose the Window menu.
  2. Pick Close All
  3. Go to the File menu.
  4. Hover over Utilities
  5. Select Verify Data

Rebuild data

  1. Go through steps 3-5 from above but pick Rebuild data in step 5.
  2. After the backup is finished, the rebuild data utility will start.
  3. When you receive the message, "Rebuild has completed," tap OK

This should do the trick.

Should you need any further assistance, don't hesitate to contact me. I'm always here to lend a helping hand. I'll be waiting for your response.

Do I rebuild the data if the verification came up with no errors?
