I went in and changed where the employees pay are located.
Then wanted to update as the image below. What is the work around?
Thank you for posting here, @simeonshigg.
I'll gladly share the workaround to enable you to close the books in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Based on the screenshot you added, the following message indicates the inability to update all the transactions within the date you have set. To sort it out, we can select a closing date that only covers your three months' transactions. This enables the system to update them and get loose from the error message.
Here's how:
6. Click Save, then Done.
You can also check out this article for more details: Close your books in QuickBooks Online.
In addition, you can also pull up a variety of payroll reports in QuickBooks. This will give you a closer look at your employee's total wages, deductions, and tax information in a certain period. Hello,
Thank you for this reply. We normally have not changed this until year-end close.
If I change this date now, won't it present a warning for every transaction the rest of the year?
Thanks for getting back here in the thread, @simeonshigg. I'm here to provide more information about choosing a closing date to update transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Yes, you're right. If you continue your current settings, which is having your closing date cover at least three months' worth of transactions, you won't receive the same prompt again. But if you decide to expand your closing date to four months' worth of transactions or more, QuickBooks may have a hard time updating them.

What has changed?
I know that I did something similar to this back in May/June for this year.
My system used to have an end date, but it does not any longer.
Thank you,

What changed?
Thank you for your response.
Hello there, @Simeon.
Allow me to join this thread and add some additional information regarding the issue that you're encountering.
First off, I want to confirm if you want to update your existing transactions or close your books. If you want to close your books, that's when you'll be given the option to enter a closing date. However, if you mean to update your existing transactions, you only have the option to choose a start date which is showing based on your screenshot.
To fix this, I recommend adjusting the start date range as stated in the screenshot.
If you're still getting the same error message even after changing the start date range, I suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. You can follow the steps on how to contact them given above by @JaeAnnC.
I'm also adding this reference for tips and dates to remember in preparation for the coming year-end: Year-end guide for QuickBooks Online.

I do not want to affect year-end at all.
This was a reclass that QBO did not allow me to do as the screenshot shows.
I will reach out to QBO support as the Community and employees have pointed out.
