Payroll tax reports for prevailing wages

Is there a report that allows me to see taxes withheld by pay type? For example, we pay employees different pay types based on the job they are performing. Some of those pay types are prevailing and require me to file certified payroll reports. I need a way to easily determine the taxes withheld from each paycheck that apply to the prevailing wage rate only for each employee.

Welcome to the Community space, @Anonymous.

You can run the Payroll Details and Payroll Summary by Employee reports. This report gives you detailed info on your employee's payroll that includes wages, deductions, and tax info, totaled by employee or period. Let me show you how.

  1. Go to the Reports menu then select Standard.
  2. Scroll down to the Payroll section.
  3. Select Payroll Details and Payroll Summary by Employee.
  4. Tap the drop-down arrow and filter the Date Range and Employee.
  5. Click Run report.

In case you still need to add some columns to your report, we can export it into an Excel file. From there, we can use the basic Excel formula to get the data you need. Simply click the Export next to the Print button and choose Export to Excel.

If you want to run another payroll report, you may check this article: Run payroll reports.

Additionally, I've included this article that will guide you in filing quarterly tax forms in QuickBooks: File quarterly tax forms.

Please let me know in the comments if you have any follow-up questions or other concerns for QuickBooks.

Payroll tax reports for prevailing wages

It is my understanding that QB desktop calculates and has a report form for Certified Payroll/Davis Bacon Wages. With payroll on-line is this not included. If not is there a macro or patch to add it?

Thanks for joining this thread, joe1962.

I can certainly understand how a report for certified payroll wages could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.

You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.

Here's how:

  1. Use the Gear icon, then go to Feedback.
  2. Enter your suggestion(s) in the Have feedback? window.
  3. If necessary, attach a file with your Camera icon.
  4. Select Next.

Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates. You can stay up-to-date with the latest news about your product by reviewing Intuit's Product Updates webpage.

As a workaround, you can use the steps shared by JoesemM to run payroll reports, then export them so they can be further customized outside of QuickBooks.

You also have the option of checking our QuickBooks App Store for apps which may be able to help you achieve what you're looking to do.

Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a lovely day!
