I struggle with this every year. I thought I had it figured out this year but I am still having a problem. My employee uses our company car for personal use on occasion. Therefore, I have to add this to his last check as a fringe benefit. I have followed the instructions for creating "Personal Use of Company Car (PUCC)" I have created this payroll item and added to the Other Payroll Items section of his paycheck. This allowed the SS/Medicare taxes to be paid for the benefit.
When I run my 940 it is showing the total exempt benefit with this amount included. BUT, on the worksheet under the "Specify Any Exempt Payments" section it shows that QB has determined I have $8865.10 in exempt payments. This is the correct amount. But where it separates the amount into categories, it shows Fringe Benefits is $815.77 and Retirement/Pension is $5290.27. The retirement/pension amount is correct but the fringe benefit amount is short by $2759.06. I am not sure where the $815.77 amount is coming from. I also do not know why the $2759.06 is not showing up. It is classified as a fringe benefit.
This is the only item I have in my payroll items list that is a fringe benefit.

Hi smorgan01,
I appreciate your effort in explaining your concern, it's very much detailed. However, there are quite a few figures that we need to check out or trace in this situation, so it's best to contact our dedicated payroll support team. That way, they can start a screen-sharing session, so both you and the agent can take a look at your records at the same time when tracing the amounts.
The team is available on weekdays from 6 AM to 6 AM PT, and here are the steps to reach them:
You can also connect to them through these Chat links:
On the other hand, I like to share this article to guide you through the year-end processes in payroll: Year-end checklist for Intuit Online Payroll Enhanced.
I'm just right here if you have other questions in mind. Have a good one!

Thank you. When I received your reply I was already on the phone with QB support. I did not get this resolved. I was on the phone with support for about 3 hours and the support person was supposed to contact me yesterday but, of course, did not call me back. Shocker!!! I had to just figure out what was best for me and override the figures. I still do not know how QB picked up the amount incorrectly.
