Hello there, @Muhammad Naushad Khan.
I'm here to share some insights about paying foreign-based employees using QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), so you can manage your payroll transactions accordingly.
You can use QBOP by itself or have it added to your existing QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. Adding payroll service to your QBO subscription is a great help in paying your team and managing your taxes. You'll be charged $4 to $10 per employee per month (depending on your plan) on top of your subscription rate.
However, to add a non-U.S. citizen or foreign-based employee in QBOP, they need to fill out an I-9 form to give you their visa and valid Social Security Number (SSN) info. Since the platform isn't accepting international bank accounts for direct deposit, you'll have to do a manual payroll to record their transaction. Then, send their pay through a third-party remittance service like Remitly.
If you wish to know more about hiring an employee that isn’t a U.S. citizen (referred to by the IRS as Nonresident Alien or NRA) and how you can exempt them from certain taxes in QBOP, please see this article: Set up your employee that isn’t a U.S. citizen.
Also, you may want to check out this article as your reference to guide you in setting up your payroll service in QBO: Get started with QuickBooks Online Payroll.
You can keep me posted on how it goes in the comments below. If you have other payroll concerns, I'm always ready to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @Muhammad Naushad Khan.

Thanks Alot! Your reply is a great help! Seems like QBOP may not be suitable for me then, since I have most of employees working remotely from different countries. I just wanted to get rid of sending payments manually through third party apps.
It is a pleasure to have you here again, @Muhammad Naushad Khan.

Hello, I have a question. We have an employee who may be moving from the US to Germany (with family relocating for work). Can I continue to employ the employe remotely and pay their payroll via QBO? Would I need to do anything special / comply to certain regulations in their country, or would I send their gross payroll and the employee would handle filing the deductions?
Thank you
It's great seeing you here with your concern, Nic23. I've got insights to share to help you manage foreign-based employees and ensure payroll transactions are handled appropriately.
With QuickBooks Online, non-U.S. or foreign-based employees are required to fill out an I-9 form to ensure you've got a copy of their visa status and a valid Social Security Number (SSN). Doing so will help you identify if they may be exempt from some payroll taxes. These taxes they're exempt from depend on the type of visa they're having. Thus, I'd recommend getting in touch with the IRS for the best action to take. This way, you're guided with the best filing processes and compliances.
You can refer to this guide for more detailed information: Set up your employee that isn’t a U.S. citizen. It also includes steps on how to exempt your employee from payroll taxes.
Moreover, you can run specific payroll reports and visit payroll tax compliance links to help you review your business finances and other payroll tasks.
