I received an email regarding a rejected Federal 940 tax payment on 03/11/22 (because I needed to change my EFTPS online password). There are two problems with this.
1. I made that payment 01/31/21 and it was accepted and cleared my bank account.
2. I never attempted to make the payment again on 03/11/22 (not even sure how you would e-file again when it was accepted and paid the first time). I wasn't even home at all that day until very late in the evening (after the email was sent). I was at my daughter's wedding venue getting everything ready and doing the rehearsal dinner.
What in the world is going on? How did this happen?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have desktop QB and payroll

I'm not concerned it got rejected. My concern is that I made that payment and it was accepted and cleared months ago. The biggest concern is that somehow it got e-filed again and I am the only person with access to this as it is in my home and I was gone when this was e-filed a second time. THAT is my biggest concern. How did it get e-filed without me being on my computer to file it? This is not an IRS isue. I e-file through quickbooks and somehow it was filed a second time without me being on the computer to do it!
