"Request for Payroll service information exchange"

Every time I send the payroll for direct deposit, I go through the process and send to Intuit. Then I get a message "Request for Payroll service information exchange" and click send on that also, just so the message will go away. When I view the resulting document, it is similar to the payroll report, except it shows actual funds to be withdrawn and the direct deposit amount as $0.00. What is the point of this? Does it need to be sent or can it just be deleted, or is there a way to make it not show up every time? Thanks.

I'd like to explain why you get this message, ElizabethD46526.

The information exchange message helps us know you're connected with our system when you send the payroll. We're unable to stop it since this lets us know your Direct Deposit transactions.

Let me add an article on how you can troubleshoot Payroll Service Server Error or Payroll Connection Error as a future help.

"Request for Payroll service information exchange"

I do my own payroll through 2018 Desktop Pro w/payroll.  For some reason this last payroll is showing a red exclamation point and "to send" next to it.  I don't know how to make this go away.  When I click on it, it asks for a pin number.  I nor my boss have set this up.  It mush have happened by accident so we don't know the pin number.  HELP Please!

"Request for Payroll service information exchange"

Hi there, @Hendricks6.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I want to make sure the red exclamation point goes away from the last payroll you sent.

Personal Identification Numbers are your company's password for your Payroll Service. These are issued to your company for security to prevent unauthorized transactions from your bank account.

You can change or customize the current PIN in the Send Payroll Data window:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks account as the Admin.
  2. In the top menu, select Employees and then choose Send Payroll Data.
  3. Click on the Send Button.
  4. In the Payroll Service PIN window, go to Forgot your PIN?
  5. Enter your Admin password in the Password field.
  6. Select OK. The Enter the New PIN window opens, type in a new PIN when prompted.
  7. Go to the Submit button.

Also if you can't remember your old or current PIN or unable to change your PIN after following the steps above, refer to this article for replacing a lost or forgotten PIN: Change PIN for processing direct deposit payroll.

Let me know if the information provided does the trick. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to comment below. Happy Thursday!
