Join nowHello, we are using Quick Books Accountant Online-
We have employees that have company credit cards and we want them to be able to use the "Snap Receipt" feature, however, we do not want them to have access to the Company's books.
How do we set them up as a user to be able to leverage this functionality with out having access to Company information?
Let's get this sorted out, @js91. I'll help you limit your users from seeing firm's info.
For your employees to use snap receipt feature, you need to add them as a user to your account. This way, you can manage user access in QuickBooks and give them the only access they need for their role.
Here's how:
1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online Accountant as an admin, or a user with full access permissions.
2. Go to the Team menu and find the team member.
3. Tap Edit in the Action column.
4. Select the Firm Administration and Books tab.
5. In the Access dropdown, select an access level. You can also choose specific permissions from the dropdowns in the Access column.
6. Select Save.

Looking forward to your reply about snapping receipts or adding users. I'd be more than willing to lend you a hand.
Hi- this doesn't seem to be working. We do not want to give the employees access to the accounts receivable and accounts payable which seems to prevent them from being able to use the snap feature on the phone app. Is there a work around for this?

Hi there, js91.
I can share with your the limited access of your employee to your account.
The Admin user and user types that have all access can scan and take a photo of receipts. Being able to choose specific access rights is currently unavailable for this type of user.
I also encourage reading this article to learn more about the different user types and levels of access in QuickBooks Online: User types and user permissions.

I'm happy to offer assistance again if you have questions about the user's access rights in QBO. I'll answer them for you.
this is the dumbest thing i have ever heard of. Nobody wants employees to see a bunch of data they don't need to see.. eveyone has employees that need to scan receipts in as the swipe the card.. DUMB DUMB DUMB
i don't want to scan receipts in for them.
