Trying to run the first payroll for 2024 but the State SUI rate (Alaska) for employees is wrong. I've checked to make sure I'm using the most recent version and run all the payroll updates but it's still wrong. Unfortunately QB will not allow us to update the employee rate. I cannot express the level of frustration since I'm under the payroll deadline. Is there anyway to correct the employee rate and/or to flag this issue to QB? For someone who is only available at night it's impossible to connect with them.

The company rate was easily changed, but where I'm running into problems is the employee rate. QB is not letting me update it. The only options I have are 0.0% or .51%, neither are correct.
Hello there, BSCO1. Let me share some details about the employee rate in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
The Unemployment Insurance from states that have an employee contribution rate of an employee is updated via a tax table. We are currently working on the update, and you will receive a prompt when it's ready to download. QuickBooks will automatically adjust the contribution amount on your next payroll if you've already generated paychecks.
Once the newest tax table is released, you can check or download it by checking out this article: Get the latest tax table update.

You would think something as important as a payroll tax rate would be changed in a more timely fashion. These rates have been out for over a month, and while your system might "correct" the withholding over time, after the fact, it is a fail on Quickbooks part to not have this in place by the first of the year. And yes, I realize you have many states that need to be updated, and us little ole Alaskan's are but one, but if you can't get it done then put the burden back on us and let us make our own changes.
And while I am on a rant ... QB needs to get with the times and get rid of the need to manipulate our computers to run a payroll update by being required to utilize an outdated and unused browser on most computer these days ... Internet Explorer. We haven't run a payroll update successfully in nearly a year because of your 403 error code that directs us to "turn on IE" ... which then screws up other programs of ours.
Rant over.
You provided instructions for the Employer rate, the problem is your tax table has the WRONG rate for the Employee Alaska Unemployment tax! Calling Intuit Support will not solve the problem, the tax tables, that we pay for, needs to be updated. When are you going to update the tax table so the correct rate for Employee Alaska Unemployment Tax is available???
The fact that they took away our ability to adjust the rate, then failed to provide an update with the proper rate is beyond frustrating. The 3 1/2 hours I spent on the phone with tech support was a total waste of time since they ended the conversation with "oh, it looks like they forgot about Alaska". Wow. Do better Quickbooks.
That does not work and I have called numerous times. This is the second week for our payroll. This should have been fixed by now. I had the same issue last year and had to call numerous times.
Any update for us in Alaska on when Quickbooks will update our ESC Employee tax rate that changed 01/01/2024? Those of us who do payroll prefer our data is CORRECT when entered. Quickbooks has tied our hands on correcting this error ourselves, and failed us in getting the rate fixed for the 2nd week of the year already. This is unacceptable.
I don't have time to wait on hold for over an hour, and some have been on hold longer with no satisfaction, it appears.
Please advise.

It's still not fixed and we are already in the third week of January... WTF
And they STILL haven't fixed it as of 1:30 on 1/18/24... SMH
I was able to run a payroll update today and get the correct ESC rate finally. Sad that we were not alerted there was a payroll update when they issued it last week.
