Hello there, shannonpingitore.
Let me bring clarifications to your concern about zone settings in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
The date and time are recorded in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) on our QuickBooks Online (QBO) servers. Thus, when running reports, QBO analyzes the time based on the QBO server time zone which is the GMT.
Let me know if you have additional time zone on the report. If you have other concerns, just let me know.
This is totally unacceptable, and 3 years later (it is now november of 2022) you still haven't fixed it. the customer service rep i am on with right now has taken 30 minutes to copy and paste this very email and tell me the exact same thing. AFTER telling me 4 different places to go fix it in qbo, none of which existed. She had to ask how i liked quickbooks, she was told to do so i'm sure, but not a good idea when you can't even change the time on a report. Do you really think that's useful information when you need to know which report was created when? and a board of directors wants accurate information. this is exactly why qbo is a sub par product. you are not doing the things that could make us more comfortable, the little things. to you they are not important, too bad we're the customer or you'd have 100% self satisfaction surveys. as you can tell i am not happy.
Hello,
Is there a way to change to our current time zone, instead of using GMT?
I appreciate for following this thread, Rethink1.
QuickBooks Online servers record the date and time in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
When running reports, QBO interprets the time based on our server's time zone which happens to be GMT.

Thank you crystala - well said!! A year after crystala's this post (2023-11-12) the silence continues. Some of the easiest fixes/options continue to be not addressed by intuit - however they still apply all the man power available on irrevalent stuff that really has nothing to do with providing tools to run your businesss. They prefer to focus on selling a product to new customers that have no idea as to what they are doing and when it's all screwed up, we get the call from the upset Client because it was supposed to be easier. Yes, that means more business for us but there is no value in "fixing" a chart of accounts. I'm sure many will disagree but at this point, any thing to get the attention of intuit is better than the status quo.
I think the problem is this: the super users of QBs are not as high on the totem pole as new users. I would like to see a reply from Intuit other than telling us to go to Settings,..... and provide our input or request.
It's time to man up and address existing users.
As a side note and to show that this is not just a one time thing, there is still a request from 3 1/2 years ago to allow a customer to pay from a statement (Re: Is there a way for customers to pay an entire statement with a card online without having to pay...) that is unresolved
lesemanncpa - you nailed it. I am still looking for the answer here. And just saying it's the server's fault is crazy. How does every other online program in the world give the user the correct time? Maybe QBO should look into this and at least throw us a bone. Again, while it may not seem important to you people, it is important to us. This is accounting, not kindergarten, but even in kindergarten they have to learn how to tell time. Is this what's on our children's computers when they are learning remote? Greenwich Mean Time.??? No it's not. So please hold up to your word
My reports show Los Angeles, CA time (PST) when I am located in Texas (CST) ... two time zones away. The standard answer of "using GMT" is invalid and wrong.
