What is best software for distribution?

There are various software or applications that you can use for your business. Know that the sharing of ideas, experiences, and recommendations is always welcome here. This makes the forum such an awesome place.

I won't be able to suggest as each company is unique in managing its entries. But, know that QuickBooks Online integrates with various third-party apps. All you have to do is to select the best app that suits your business needs.

Here's how you can look for an application:

1. Go to Apps.intuit.com.
2. From the Search box, enter the specific feature of the App you want.
3. Select an App card. 
4. On the Overview tab, you’ll find things you need to know about the app, the contact details, as well as the app's support information.

To add up, any user that has a recommendation can always chime into this thread. You'll be notified once any other responses will be added here.

Do you run a wholesale business or else?

We are distributing company.   We buy from manufacturers and sell it to big customers or walk in customers.

We buy products from the manufacturer and sell it to customers who use it to build other equipment.  We also would sell to the public.    We need to keep minimum parts in stock for the equipment builders.  We also need proper Sales Orders that can handle backorders.

You may start from QBO Simple Start or Essentials.

then utilize an inventory management app to have the sales order feature, backorder feature and manage your big customers/resellers with a portal. They acquired this app last year to be part of the family.

In additional to what Fiat mentioned, if you still haven't subscribed to any QuickBooks products yet, you may consider checking out our QuickBooks Desktop (QBES) Enterprise version. Though we can't suggest a specific product but based on your description, this is the closest that I can think of.
