What report will give me the names, addresses, hire and term dates of all employees who worked last year?

Hello, @browell.

I'd be glad to walk you the step by steps instructions on how to access the reports that show the addresses, hire, and termination date of the employee in QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports tab.
  2. Type Employee Details in the search box, then enter.
  3. Click the small drop-down arrow under Employee then pick the employee's name with an asterisk
  4. Hit Run Report.

This report no longer shows termination dates - any other options?

Hello, traze2.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I've replicated the steps provided by my colleague above using QuickBooks Online Plus, the termination date shown in the Employee Details report.

However, if you're using QuickBooks Essential, the option to view the termination date is unavailable.

As a workaround, I recommend setting up the report to show Inactive employees, then export it to Excel. This way, you'll be able to customize the output manually.

Here's how:

  1. On the left panel, click Reports.
  2. Scroll down and select Employee Details.
  3. Below Employee, choose Inactive Employees.
  4. Hit Run report.
  5. Press the drop-down arrow next to Share
  6. Click Export To Excel

We aren't using Essentials though, we are using Quickbooks Online Plus.  Our report used to look like that when we would print it, it no longer does.

Thank you for getting back to us, @traze2.

Running the Employee Details report should show the termination date of your employee. Let's review your employee's profile to check if the termination date was entered. It's the possible reason why it isn't showing on the report. Here's how:

  1. Click Payroll from the left menu, then select Employees.
  2. From the Active Employees drop-down, choose Inactive Employees.
  3. Find and select each employee that was terminated.
  4. Select the pencil icon beside the Employment section.
  5. In the Status section, make sure the Termination date is entered on the field.
  6. Click Done.

Once verified, you can run the Employee Details report again to double-check. Also, please make sure you select Inactive Employees on the report.

If the termination date still isn't showing on the report, I suggest clearing your browser's cache. Browser data issues are one of the possible reasons why there are missing data in QuickBooks.

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Support Team. This way, they can further check on this matter and provide additional troubleshooting steps to get this fixed.

You might also want to run payroll reports in QuickBooks Online. This will help you view useful information about your business and employees.

Our doors are always open to help you again if you need more assistance managing your employees. Have a pleasant day ahead.

Unfortunately, that does not fix the issue.  I contacted support before I searched for help online.  They have no suggestions, other than to leave feedback, which I have done. This feature was there in the past, it's just not there now.  Also on the Payroll Details Report, it no longer prints out the hourly rate, and it's not an option to choose it.  Looks like there were updates/improvements made in April 2021, and that's when the reports changed what printed out.
