Zero net paycheck

Attempting to put an entire paycheck towards retirement in QBO Payroll. Currently the module does not allow you to enter the max amount for 2024 401k contribution and using 2023 max amount. Can you please fix this issue?

Zero net paycheck

I appreciate you for posting your concern, @imfaster22. Let me share more information about 401K contributions in QuickBooks Online.

Due to the memory being filled with cache and browser cookies in QBO, the browser will use the stored files when the QBO page is opened. In the meantime, I recommend using a private browsing window that doesn't store files. Browsers use cache and cookies to load web pages faster.

To open an incognito window, you can refer to these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Press Crtl+Shift+P
  • Microsoft Edge & Mozilla Firefox: Crtl+Shift+N
  • Safari: Press Command+Shift+N

If you still have the same result, I suggest utilizing another supported browser. It can help us identify if the issue is specific to your current browser.

If you can now enter the maximum amount for the 2024 401K contribution, consider returning to your regular browser and clearing its cache and cookies.

For future reference, you can refer to this article to file your tax forms: Pay and file payroll taxes and forms electronically in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Let me know if you still have questions about your taxes. Have a great day, and take care.
