Congrats on your first payroll. I'm here to help you in paying your employees.
Yes, the direct deposit (DD) allows you to run payroll and pay them electronically directly into their bank accounts. You'll need to set this up so you can use this service.
Please follow these steps on how to add your employees’ for direct deposit payroll:
- From the Payroll menu, select Employees and click the employee's name.
- Click the Edit employee button and proceed to the How do you want to pay this employee? section.
- Select Direct deposit and click +Enter bank info. Select the Direct deposit method and enter the bank details.
- Tap Save.
Once done, the next thing we need to do is connect your bank account. This is where Intuit withdraws the funds to pay your employees. For the detailed steps, please check this link: Connect your bank to Online Payroll.
Note that you need to verify the test transaction. This is to confirm that the bank account you linked is active and this process may take up to 2 business days. This means that you won't be able to use direct deposit for today's payroll. You'll want to temporarily pay your employees by check.
