Setting up Workers' Compensation in QuickBooks Online

I have been trying to figure out how to set up my workers' comp rates for different class codes in QuickBooks Online. My employees work in different class codes throughout the day and track hours accordingly. I cannot figure out how to set up the rates OR run a full workers' comp report for reporting the wages.

Setting up Workers' Compensation in QuickBooks Online

Hey there, @Platinum Plumbing LLC.

I can help set up your worker's compensation class codes. However, you can only assign one class per employee in QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Click Workers on the left pane.
  2. Select Employees.
  3. Select the employee's name, and then select Edit employee.
  4. Select Employment at the top of the page, and then enter the name of the worker's comp class.
  5. Click Done.

Once done, you may run the Worker's Compensation report. Follow the steps below.

  1. Click Reports on the left pane.
  2. Find the Workers' Compensation report from the search bar.
  3. Change Date Range if needed.
  4. Select Run Report.

Here are some articles you can check to learn more about workers' compensation:

I understand that process, but I'm having trouble assigning multiple class codes for each employee. Is this possible? For example, one day the employee may do plumbing and the next they may do excavation or drilling which are different class codes.

Setting up Workers' Compensation in QuickBooks Online

Hi there, Platinum Plumbing LLC.

Currently, we can only assign one class for Worker's Comp in QBO payroll. I would suggest reaching out to AP Intego for more options. Please click on this link: https://intuit.me/2MKJuTt Then, contact their number in the App Information section.
