The presence of holidays can modify your paydays and the required payroll submission timelines, Greco. I want to ensure you have all the details on how holidays might impact your payroll processing with QuickBooks.
For QuickBooks Online Payroll Core Users:
When a holiday is approaching, make sure to process your payroll one day earlier than usual. This helps to ensure that funds are deducted from your account before the next business day starts.
For QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium and Elite Users:
- To ensure smooth processing, approve your paychecks before 7:00 AM PT on the day before a holiday. This allows the funds to be withdrawn on the same day.
- Alternatively, if you approve your paychecks before 5:00 PM PT on the business day before payday, the direct deposit will process, and funds will be withdrawn from your account a day before payday.

Additionally, it is very important to adhere to the schedule for filing your taxes or sending out employees' W-2s. Check out the schedule: Year-end checklist for QuickBooks Online Payroll.
