When I prepare my 1099 misc for my contractors the name of my company is incorrect. I changed it in my settings & it shows my old company name on the 1099s.

You have two ways to change the company name, Note2rosa.

First is in the settings which you did. Although, let's make sure the Legal name field is also changed. This is used for your forms like 1099s. Here's how:

1. Click the Gear icon.
2. Select Account and Settings.
3. Go to the Company tab.
4. Click the Pencil icon in the Company name row.
5. If it's the same with the company name, put a checkmark in the Same as company name box. If it's different, enter the information, then click Save. 

Second is when you file the 1099 forms. Here's how:

1. Click Expenses.
2. Go to the Vendors tab.
3. Click Prepare 1099s.
4. Select Let's get started or Continue your 1099s.
5. On the Review your company info page, click the Pencil icon in the Name and address row.
6. Edit the company name, then click Save.

Once done changing the information, you can continue preparing and filing the 1099 forms.
