Why does the system keep saying invalid hire date when entering info in employee details? I still don’t have workers comp. Is that why it won’t accept any hiring at all?

Why does the system keep saying invalid hire date when entering info in employee details? I still don’t have workers comp. Is that why it won’t accept any hiring at all?

Hello there, eacpainting-yaho.

I want to ensure you're able to add the hire date to your employee in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To start, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this. There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, which causes some errors or unusual responses. Let's start accessing your account using a different or private browser. You can use either of these shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Shift N

Once you have successfully added a hire date, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This is done to speed up the process the next time you do a transaction in QuickBooks Online. Also, an alternative way is to use other compatible browsers.

May I ask if you received an error message when putting a checkmark to reconcile? I appreciate any extra information you can give, and it will help us isolate the issue and provide the best solution.

I've also attached some articles you can refer to for your future guidance and detailed steps in managing your employee profile and transactions:

Feel free to leave a comment below if you have any other questions about adding a hire date to an employee in your account. I'm always here to help. Wishing you and your business continued success.
