Learn about the QuickBooks Business Network

by Intuit•358• Updated 2 weeks ago

The QuickBooks Business Network is a secure platform that connects your business directly with customers and vendors to streamline invoicing and bill payments. By connecting to the network, you can send invoices and bills directly between QuickBooks accounts. This saves you time and helps you predict how much money you'll make.

How the QuickBooks Business Network works

The network facilitates the direct exchange of financial documents between verified QuickBooks users.

  • Verify Information: You must first verify or update your business contact information. Once you accept an invitation or receive one, your connections can access this contact information.
  • Connect: Search the QuickBooks Business Network database to find the customer or vendor you wish to connect with and send them an invitation.
  • Exchange: After an invitation is accepted, you can send invoices directly to a customer's QuickBooks account, or receive bills directly from a vendor.
  • Updates: If your connections change their QuickBooks contact information, it automatically stays updated within the network.

Benefits of using the network

Using the QuickBooks Business Network automates several aspects of accounts receivable and payable:

  • Ready for review: Bills received through the network are ready to review and pay immediately.
  • Reduced manual entry: You do not need to manually create bills for connected vendors.
  • Streamlined workflows: The direct connection helps streamline daily accounting workflows.

Information for QuickBooks Online Accountant users

QuickBooks Online Accountant users have specific permissions and limitations regarding the network.

  • Client Management: Accountant users may search the network to find contacts or change network visibility on behalf of their clients' QuickBooks Online accounts.
  • "Your Books" Limitation: Contact information for the QuickBooks Online Accountant firm itself (the file labeled "Your Books") is not published in the QuickBooks Business Network. Therefore, the search and visibility experience is not available for the accountant's own business account.
