Error 1603 comes up when the security policy of the computer has been enabled or there is a problem installing the Microsoft NET Framework.
There are a few solutions to address this issue, and we'll start by using the QuickBooks Tool Hub and setting up the Install Diagnostic Tool.
If you haven't already installed QuickBooks Tool Hub, here's to download and set it up:
- Restart your desktop.
- Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub file.
- Open the download file QuickBooksToolHub.exe.
- Follow the prompts on-screen and agree to the terms and conditions to complete the installation
- Once installed, double-click the Tool Hub icon on your desktop to open it.
Next, let's run the Install Diagnostic Tool through the Tool Hub:
- Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
- Navigate to the Installation Issues tab.
- Select QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. The tool may take about 20 minutes to run.
- Once the tool has finished, restart your computer.
After restarting and the error still persist, the next step is to update your Windows version directly through Microsoft.
