Let me provide some information about QuickBooks and the differences between QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) and QuickBooks Online (QBO) Essentials.
QBSE is designed for freelancers or independent contractors and self-employed individuals track their transactions and stay prepared for tax time throughout the year. It creates a complete Schedule C you can import into TurboTax Online Self-Employed to help you file your return quickly and easily.
If you need more room to grow, yes, you can move to QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop. They are designed for business owners (C-corp, S-corp, partnership, or multiperson LLC), not a sole proprietor.
Upgrading to QuickBooks Essentials with the TurboTax bundle is currently unavailable. QBO has a different platform in filing taxes different from QBSE. For your guide, check out these articles:
