when I transfer data from desk top to online the data does not show up online. Why doesn't the data show up online?

Did you get an error message when you exported your data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QBO? It's possible that the conversion didn't go through. First, ensure that you've selected the correct QBO company file. Then, we can perform basic troubleshooting steps to identify any browser-related issues.
You may have accumulated too much historical data stored in your browser. It can usually result in issues like missing fields or buttons. First, let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:
Log in to your account and check your data. If they were transferred successfully, I'd recommend clearing your browser's cache. This way, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also switch to a different supported browser to see if it has something to do with it.
Otherwise, export your file again. You may see some errors during or after the move. Check out this article on how to fix them: List of common errors.
Know that there are limitations when you convert your file. That includes the attachments, audit trail, and recurring transactions. Once done, I'd recommend running the Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reports to ensure that you transferred your data correctly. To verify your reports in both products, filter the date period to All Dates and the accounting method to Accrual. For more information, check out this article:
