Does the new price increase include the continuing non-functioning Mac app with the keychain problem? I just like to know that money is wasted on lack of support.

This isn't the kind of service we want you to experience, and I'd like to make it up with you, @Jim05.

The keychain problem is just validating the new application of your macOS. You'll have to enter your login password and select Always allow to avoid seeing this message again.

Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks app.
  2. The QuickBooks wants to use your confidential information stored in Intuit ID... in your keychain prompt will appear.
  3. Enter your login password and make sure to select Always allow.

Here's an article you can read for more details: QuickBooks Online for Mac app.

You might also want to check out this article to know more about the QuickBooks app for Mac: QuickBooks App for Windows and Mac: General support.

Please touch base with me here for all of your QuickBooks needs, I'm always happy to help. Have a good one.

Part of the problem appears to be that I am never prompted with the request to always allow access. I followed the instructions to install the new app to the letter.

Hi Jim05,

We can uninstall and reinstall the app so you'll be prompted with a request to allow access.

Here's how:

To uninstall:

  1. Drag the QuickBooks Windows app from the Applications folder to the Trash.
  2. To completely remove the app, go to Finder then choose Empty Trash.

To install:

  1. Select the QuickBooks.dmg file in the downloads section.
  2. Drag QuickBooks to the Applications folder.
  3. From the Applications folder, launch the QuickBooks App and the program will load to the sign-on page.
  • Click Sign In, if you have QuickBooks Online account.
  • Click Create a new QuickBooks account if you don't have one.

You can also download the app using this link: Easier Access to QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have further questions. I'd always be happy to help you.
