Help with Error -6819,-816

I recently upgraded to a new desktop. I installed my qb 2019 onto it and used my backup to put everything onto the new computer. Since switching to the new computer, I am constantly getting error -6819,-816. I have read the online help article and have downloaded the QB tool hub and ran it but it did not help. I moved my QB company file to my C drive and that did not help. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and that did not help. At this point, the only way I can open my QB is to reboot the computer and then I can get into my company file. Sometimes I have to reboot it more then once before it will finally let me in. Any ideas on how to fix it? I never had this problem on my old computer.

The Error -6819,-816 is usually caused by multi-user network issues. If you've tried all the solutions here, then I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. They have the necessary tools to investigate what's causing this behavior.

 

Here's how you can reach them:

 

  1. In your QuickBooks Desktop program, go to Help QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. In the Have a Question window, click the Contact Us link at the bottom.
  3. From the Contact Us page, select any topics.
  4. Under Here's how to connect with a QuickBooks expert section, click the Start a Message or Get Phone Number button.
