How do I re-install QuickBooks Desktop Pro Mac 2020?

Hello there, @tspeng22.

Thank you for posting here in the Community. I can share some information about restoring the previous macOS.

Once you revert to a previous version, it only removes the changes you make to the files during the time you installed the new version of macOS. To avoid losing data, I recommend backing up important files to any portable device available.

It would be best to check with the Apple Support Team to determine if it's required to deauthorize the program. They also have the tools to help you downgrade to the stable version.

For the QuickBooks program, please follow these steps to create a backup of your company file:

  1. In QuickBooks, select File then Back Up.
  2. Select the folder to store your backup.
  3. Select Start Backup.

If QuickBooks is still available after the downgrade process, you can proceed with restoring your recent backup. Here's how:

  1. Double-click the backup file. This opens a new window that shows a copy of your company file. If you have attached documents in your backup, you should also see a folder called Attachments Library.
  2. Drag the copy of your company file to the folder where you keep your QuickBooks company. If you see Attachments Library, drag the folder to the same location.

Tip: If you have an existing company file and you don't want to overwrite it, you can move the backup copy to a separate folder.

  3. Open your QuickBooks for Mac.
  4. Select Browse, then go to the folder where you saved the copy of the company file. Select the company file, then Open.
  5. A prompt lets you know that you are opening a backup file. Select Continue.
  6. Enter a name for the company file, then Save.
  7. Select OK.

In case the program no longer exist, you'll need reinstall it first to your MacBook. For the detailed instructions, please visit the Install and set up QuickBooks Desktop for Mac article.

Additionally, I've attached an article for user to learn more about to perform clean install and uninstall for QuickBooks: Reinstall QuickBooks for Mac using clean install.

I'm only a few clicks away if you have any other questions. Wishing you and your business continued success.
