how do I setup the "2 factor authentication" for my users - as a compulsory feature before they can login

Hello kfyong,

The Two-Step Verification security settings can be set through their Intuit account. They can follow these steps to set it up:

  1. Sign in to your Intuit account.
  2. Select Sign In & Security from the left menu.
  3. Turn on the Two-step verification function.
  4. Make sure the phone number is correct. You can select how you want to verify afterwards:
       • Text message - you'll receive the standard six-digit verification text code.
       • Voice call - you'll receive an automated voice verification code in English.
  5. Select Turn on.
  6. Enter the code, then select Continue.

You can use this link for more information about the two-step verification: Turn on or turn off two-step verification.

Share that steps to the other users so they can comply to your company's protocol.

Keep us posted if you need anything else. Have a great day!

how do I setup the "2 factor authentication" for my users - as a compulsory feature before they can login

The answer to my query only tells me how the users can turn on the 2 factor authentication - which means that the users can choose not to turn on the 2 factor authentication (or they can turn off the 2 factor authentication later)

What I wanted as an online-security,  is to turn on the 2 factor authentication for all the users - this should be carried out at the Administrator level. The users can't turn them off the 2 factor authentication without permission from the Administrator.

Thanks for clarifying, kfyong.

For Admin users, they can see and do everything except edit or remove the Master admin's access. The option to turn on the Two-step verification for a user is unavailable. It is an option that our engineers can consider. I personally sent a feedback to them and you can check out our QuickBooks Blog for updates.

I have a reference about user types that we can look into on what access we can grant to our users.

I'm here if you need further help. Mention me and I'll keep an eye on your reply.
