Do you have any other backup file to restore?
Can you open the sample file without any issue?
Hello, Wade_smartcpa.
Let's perform some troubleshooting procedures so you can restore your company file from your backup copy.
Your backup up file may be damaged, or there are some missing components on your QuickBooks Desktop. We can do a series of tests to determine the root cause of this.
Let's start by opening a sample file as suggested by Fiat. It's one way to identify the issue and take the necessary action to resolve it.
If you can open a sample file without any issues, you can download and install the QuickBooks Tool hub and then run the Company File issue to fix the data issue in your backup file. Check out this article so you'll have a guide on the process: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.
If unable to open a sample file, let's run QuickBooks Desktop repair to ensure that there are no missing components that cause the software's unusual behavior. I'll show you how.
I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support if the problem continues. They can do screen sharing to further assist you with retrieving your company file.
I'll also include this link for your reference to learn more about restoring backup files: Restore a backup of your company file.
If you have any more issues, feel free to post a response in the comments section below. I'll be around to take care of it.
It is very possible that your company file is corrupted. Utilize QB ToolHub and Chat Support to fix your file. Otherwise, you will have to purchase a third-party file repair service.
