Brand new, unopened, silver validation information remained covered until recent.
Intuit states they have zero record of the License code and we are disallowed to activate.
This disk was sitting in the same box as the laptop for many years and because we did not install immediately- we are being penalized? I have been using QB since 1999 and installation is a simple process
It's indeed important that license number is activated and registered in order to effectively manage your business operations with QuickBooks, @TTAG.
To double check the validity of your validation code, it's best to contact our Customer Support Team and provide them with the license number so they can pull up your account in the system. They can use their tools to check if your validation code is valid or not.

@DebSheenD RE: With this I recommend contacting the retail store in where you've purchased the license number to assist you.
What for? How will they help?
"What for? How will they help?"
For sure. I guess that's easier than telling the OP that they're SOL.;-)
I understand 2017 is discontinued. Here is an analogy for you... I purchased a book in 2017 from a small business book store. Because I failed to read the book immediately- now in 2024 the words have disappeared- vanished from the pages and I am told to seek out the small business book store to give me the words.... Your recommendation is a circle of frustration and ridiculous. For shame on Intuit for not honoring the product- no matter of age
Please stop. Did you fail to see I have been a user since 1999... Do you think the activation is foreign rocket scientist? Bottom line, Inuit fails to allow access to it's brand new, unopened, older version's. Your replay is an insult to my integrity and that will be the last of my replies
