Missing "Export Company File to QuickBooks Online" Option in QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions v24

Hi there, zekerye. I'm here to walk you through the process of moving your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company file to your QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The Export Company File option in QuickBooks Online is available for QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premier. Since you're using the QuickBooks Enterprise version, we need to use shortcut keys to export your company data file.

Before we begin, please take note of the following:

  • We have 60 days from when you create your QuickBooks Online account to transfer your data.
  • Due to feature limitations, you won't be able to convert some of your lists and reports.
  • Make sure your QuickBooks is up-to-date
  • Ensure your Total Target is less than 750,000, we can press Ctrl + 1 on your keyboard to check on this.
  • If you use advanced features (such as advanced reporting and advanced inventory), we recommend starting fresh because some of your data won't move to QuickBooks Online.

Here's how to Export your QBDT company file to QBO:

  1. Sign in as an admin in QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. In QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, press CTR + 1 to open the Product information window. Then press CTRL + B + Q then select OK.
  3. Select Get Started.
  4. A screen will appear that says, “Let’s bring your data to QuickBooks Online.” You can choose how you want to transfer your data:
    • Bring all of your company data.
    • Bring only lists and balances. (This option is beneficial if your file is large and you prefer not to transfer every transaction.)
  5. If you manage inventory, you have two options:
    • Select Yes, track inventory using FIFO, and select a starting date.
    • Select No, don’t move inventory. You can move your inventory manually later.
  6. If you use multi-currency in QuickBooks Desktop, you’ll have to select a home currency.
  7. You will be asked if you have a QuickBooks Online account.
    • If you do, select Yes, sign me in then click Continue.
  8. Sign in as an admin to your QuickBooks Online company.
  9. Choose the company you want to move your data to.
  10. Select Continue, then hit Export.
