Join nowI just bought Desktop 2021. The new version won't load my old company file. The instructions for upgrading and updating that are in the support section site are incomplete and make references to resources that don't exist.
The sales person told me that there was a support team for migration that would handle everything. When I called support they were closed. I called back the next day during their "business hours" and they were closed. I called the main number and the person said that the support line was indeed supposed to be open, and they did not know why they were closed.
I was told the software that I bought included support. The support that was promised and advertised is not available. Intuit is FRAUDULENTLY advertising their Quickbook product as having support that it does NOT have.
I have wasted two days trying to fix this.

Anyway, which QBD year version do you have prior to purchased the new license?

I assumed you've already created a backup file from the old version of QuickBooks. Therefore, all you want to do is restore it to the new version. Here's the article for your reference: Upgrade your company files after you switch to a new version of QuickBooks Desktop.

With regards to Support, the QuickBooks Desktop Plus plans come with free Support. If you're not subscribed to a Plus plan (like QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2021), you can still ask questions in the Community for free. Or, you can contact our Support Team, and they may ask you to pay for one-time Support or for a year.
